Since version V5.3.12, Distributed Relational Database Service (DRDS) has introduced a new data definition language (DDL) execution engine to support DDL job management. This feature allows you to view the job status during DDL execution, resume failed DDL jobs, and roll back failed DDL jobs.
Terms of DDL job management
DDL job: One DDL statement execution process corresponds to one DDL job.
Management statement: an SQL statement that is specific to DRDS and is executed to view or manage DDL jobs.
Job ID: the unique identifier of a DDL job. It is a long 64-bit signed integer.
Job status: the internal status of a DDL job during execution.
This series of topics describe all aspects of DDL job management in detail and provide corresponding examples and scenario descriptions.
