This topic describes how to monitor file gateways in the Cloud Storage Gateway console, including the CPU and memory usage, cache disk IOPS, cache disk read and write speed, and network throughput.

Background information

Version 1.0.39 and later support the logging monitor feature. You can use this feature in the Cloud Storage Gateway console.

File gateways support audit logs that record operations performed on business deployed on Alibaba Cloud and monitoring logs that monitor system and shared directories. Logs are distributed to specified Log Service (SLS) projects and Logstores.
  • The audit log records operations performed on business deployed on Alibaba Cloud, including the upload, rename, and delete operations. This helps you check the operation status and response time.
  • The monitoring log monitors the following information: the network, disk, CPU, and memory status, the total amount of data downloaded from and uploaded to OSS, the amount of cached data, the read and write bandwidth of shared directories, the amount of data uploaded to and downloaded from OSS of individual operations, the amount of OSS data, and OSS health check status. This information helps you track statistics about system and shared directories.
Note For on-premises gateways, only users in the whitelist can use the logging monitor feature.

View monitoring information

  1. Log on to the CSG console.
  2. Go to the Gateway Cluster page, find the target file gateway, and then click the name of the gateway to go to the Share tab.
  3. Navigate to the Details page to view the monitoring information.
The monitoring information includes the CPU and memory usage, cache disk IOPS, cache disk read and write speed, and network throughput.

Configure the logging monitor feature
