Container Service for Kubernetes:[Product Changes] ACK discontinued technical support for Container Service for Swarm clusters

Last Updated:Sep 06, 2023

Starting from 2019, Container Service for Kubernetes (ACK) has discontinued technical support for Container Service for Swarm clusters and started to support ACK clusters in order to provide enterprises with more stable and reliable services.

Container Service for Swarm clusters will be phased out in stages. Container Service for Swarm users will receive notifications at each of the following stages so that they can be prepared to migrate their applications.

  1. Starting from July 1, 2019, you can no longer create Container Service for Swarm clusters in the console.

  2. Starting from December 31, 2019, the Container Service for Swarm documentation is removed and the Container Service for Swarm console is no longer in use. Technical support for Container Service for Swarm is also discontinued. You can manage your Container Service for Swarm clusters by calling the API.

  3. ACK will shut down the management servers of Container Service for Swarm clusters in all regions at 00:00:00 on October 8, 2023. After the servers are shut down, the Elastic Compute Service (ECS) instances and other cloud instances associated with your Container Service for Swarm clusters are not released. However, services deployed in the Container Service for Swarm clusters will become unavailable. Applications that are not deployed in Container Service for Swarm clusters are not affected. To avoid service interruptions, migrate your applications from Container Service for Swarm clusters to Container Service for Kubernetes before the servers are shut down.
