DataWorks provides Basic Edition and three advanced editions: Standard Edition, Professional Edition, and Enterprise Edition, which are sorted in ascending order based on the edition level. A higher level of edition provides more abundant features. You can purchase an edition based on your business requirements. If the edition that you purchase cannot meet your business requirements, you can upgrade the edition.

Purchase instructions
DataWorks Basic Edition is free of charge. DataWorks advanced editions are charged based on the subscription billing method. For more information, see Billing overview.
Only one DataWorks advanced edition can be purchased in a region at a time. You can purchase another edition in the same region only after the purchased edition expires and is released. You can upgrade a DataWorks advanced edition to a more advanced edition before the advanced edition in use expires. For more information, see Upgrade the edition of DataWorks.
After you activate DataWorks of an advanced edition in a region, you can use the features provided by the edition in all workspaces in the region.
If you do not renew a DataWorks advanced edition before it expires, the advanced edition is downgraded to DataWorks Basic Edition after the advanced edition expires. For more information about the downgrade rules for specific features of advanced editions, see Feature downgrades of DataWorks advanced editions upon expiration.

Upgrade the edition of DataWorks
DataWorks provides Basic Edition, Standard Edition, Professional Edition, and Enterprise Edition, which are sorted in ascending order based on the edition level. A higher level of edition provides more abundant features. If the DataWorks edition that you use cannot meet your business requirements, you can log on to the DataWorks console and upgrade the edition on the Purchased Resources and Services page.
An edition upgrade does not affect tasks that are running.
