Initialize the password of the DLA primary database account

After you activate Alibaba Cloud DLA, the DLA system automatically creates a DLA primary database account (root account). You need to initialize the password of the root account and then use the root account to access DLA and create and authorize sub-accounts.

Note:

  • The root account is unique within the same region.

  • After you initialize the password of the DLA primary database account, you can modify the password. For more information, see Reset passwords.

Initialize the password of the primary account

You can initialize the password of the DLA primary database account by using either of the following ways:

Use the password that is generated by the DLA system

  1. Choose Data Lake Analytics Details > Activate.

  2. On the Initialize Root account page, select Use System-generated Password, and then click Activate Service.

  3. Log on to the Data Lake Analytics console. In the top navigation bar, choose Message > More.

  4. On the Internal Message page, locate a message named Notification for initializing the Data Lake Analytics account, and view your DLA account and password.

Manually set a password

  1. Log on to the Data Lake Analytics console.

  2. On the Initialize Root account page, set a password and confirm the password , and then click Activate Service.

    The password can contain 8 to 18 characters, and can consist of uppercase letters, lowercase letters, digits, and special characters. Special characters include `~! @#$%^&*()_+-=[]|;':,. /<>?

  3. Log on to the Data Lake Analytics console. In the top navigation bar, choose Message > More.

  4. On the Internal Message page, locate a message named Notification for initializing the Data Lake Analytics account, and view your DLA account and password.
