Add cache disks

You can add cache disks on the Caches page. Each share of a file gateway is associated with one cache disk only. If you have created multiple shares, add cache disks accordingly. Data stored in the share can be uploaded to the associated OSS bucket through the cache disks. Data stored in OSS buckets can be synchronized to the local cache disks. For more information, see the remote sync feature described in the Configure SMB services and Configure NFS services topics.

1.Log on to the gateway console.

2.On the Caches page, click Create in the upper-right corner, and the following dialog box appears:

3.Click Select and the following dialog box appears:

4.Select a cache disk and click OK to add the cache disk. You can view cache disks that you have added on the Caches page, as shown in the following figure:

Add cache disks for restoring data

Note: If you select Reuse the file system if possible but the cache disk does not have a file system, you cannot create the share. To solve this issue, clear the Reuse the file system if possible check box.

1.Select the Reuse the file system if possible check box in the Create Cache dialog box, as shown in the following figure:

2.Click OK. The data stored in the cache disk will be reused. If you delete a share by mistake, this feature allows you to create a new share and restore the data.
