:Register an AnalyticDB instance

Last Updated:Apr 15, 2020

Background

  • This topic describes the precautions for registering an AnalyticDB instance with DMS Enterprise. This topic helps you quickly and efficiently register an AnalyticDB instance for unified management.

Procedure

  1. Register the database instance information.

  2. Set related parameters. For basic information required for registering a database instance, see Instance management. Pay special attention to the following parameters:

    • (1) Instance Source: Set this parameter to ApsaraDB.
    • (2) Network Type: Set this parameter to Classic Network. Currently, Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) is not supported.
    • (3) Environment: Set this parameter to Production or Test as required.
    • (4) Host: Set this parameter to the connection string of the classic network endpoint displayed in the AnalyticDB console. Do not enter the VPC endpoint. Currently, DMS Enterprise does not allow uppercase letters in the connection string. If the connection string contains uppercase letters, convert them to lowercase ones. For example, convert azB to azb.
    • (5) Port: Set this parameter to the last digits in the connection string of the classic network endpoint.
    • (6) SID/Database: Set this parameter to the instance name displayed in the AnalyticDB console. The value must be accurate.
    • (7) Instance Name: Set this parameter to an alias for the instance that uniquely distinguishes it from any others in the DMS Enterprise console. You can customize the parameter value as required.
  3. Click the corresponding button.

    • Authorize AnalyticDB: Due to the particularity of AnalyticDB, this button is available only when you have purchased AnalyticDB instances.

    • Save Authorized Instances: If you need to register multiple AnalyticDB instances at a time as a RAM user, log on to the AnalyticDB console by using the Alibaba Cloud account. Then, grant the permissions on related AnalyticDB instances to the service account dmsenterprise of DMS Enterprise in advance. In this way, the administrator or DBA that does not own resources can register and manage these AnalyticDB instances in the DMS Enterprise console.
