Last Updated:Jun 17, 2022

Elastic High Performance Computing (E-HPC) provides the Virtual Network Computing (VNC) service so that you can remotely log on to the visualized E-HPC GUI by using the web client of the E-HPC console. This topic describes how to connect to and stop a visualization service.

Prerequisites

The VNC service is installed. To install the VNC service, use one of the following methods:

  • When you create a cluster, enable the VNC feature in the Software Configurations step. The VNC service is automatically installed.

  • To install the VNC service for an existing cluster, navigate to the Software Manager panel of the Cluster page. For more information, see Install software.

Connect to a visualization service

  1. Log on to the E-HPC console.

  2. In the top navigation bar, select a region.

  3. In the left-side navigation pane, click Cluster.

  4. On the Cluster page, select a cluster. Choose More > VNC.

  5. Optional. Change the connection password.

If this is the first time that you use a visualization service, you must change the connection password. To change the connection password, perform the following steps:

    1. In the VNC Viewer, click Modify Password.

    2. In the Modify Password dialog box, enter the user password and connection password.

    2. In the Start Service message, click OK.

  7. Connect to the visualization service.

    1. In the cloud desktop of E-HPC, click Connect.

      Note

If this is the first time that you use a visualization service, you must enable the certificate. The system generates a self-signed certificate to ensure the integrity and security of visualization data.

      1. In the Input Password field, click LINK to download the certificate.

      2. In the browser that appears, allow browser access.

        • If you use Chrome, choose Advanced > Proceed to.

        • If you use Firefox, choose Advanced > Add Exception....

    2. In the Input Password field, enter the password, and click OK.

Stop the visualization service

  1. Log on to the E-HPC console.
