I'm a total beginner here. I just purchased the starter plan and fired up my first Ubuntu instance.
It's running and I'm trying to SSH in as root.... and realized I don't know the root password. I've been clicking around trying to figure this out for a while. Could someone point me in the right direction? Whenever I've installed Ubuntu on my own physical servers, I've had a chance to set the root password. I'm not sure what to do at the moment. |

Hi World!
i have the same question and i fix it I created an account precisely because I wanted to see how Aliyun worked. I was in the same situation as you. that's what I had to do to connect with my first machine on Aliyun. - Deploying the VM - Blocks ICMP V4 (yes always with me) - We modify the information of the machine - Reset password - Restarting the machine - And here we can connect in SSH If you connect with VNC on the machine before you change informations you always see the first hostname like that : zb464.... and after reboot it is ok with your new password. enjoy |

Use "root", not "Root". Case matters.
