hi all, i am a free tier user and created an ECS instance and by mistake selected aliyun instead of ubuntu. i am trying to change but dont know how. any learned teacher can help would be thankful

Just make a new instance and start over. Be sure to stop and release your current instance so that you do not get charged for it.

wow thanks a lot, i am on a free tier basis and the instance is not releasing .. i just stopped it only. wrongly configured.. any idea in some steps how to release it sir thanks a lot

Hi Thambi
Changing OS from Aliyun to Ubuntu is quite simple. Just follow the steps below. Hope you are having 1 year of free trial. In the Instance List (ECS Console), select the Instance you need to change the OS. Now click on More, and then Disk and Image and then Replace System Disk, as shown in the image below. 
Next, Click on Batch change and select the Flavour of Linux with Version you want to use in Public Image section of the preceeding screenshot 
Image below shows Windows Server as I have Windows only. If you have selected any flavour of Linux Initially, you can senect any other Flavour/ Version of Linux (AND NOT WINDOWS) 
Set Password and you are good to go! |
