Web hosting and third party email service
Hi everybody,
Sorry for my bad english, it is not my native language. I have an Alibaba Cloud web hosting with a bound third party domain name. I would like to use Alibaba Direct Mail to be able to receive emails at an address xxx@my-domain-name.cn. So I need to add MX and TXT records in AlibabaCloud DNS. BUT I already have CNAME records to access my website with my domain name. If I have understood correctly, it's not possible to have MX records with CNAME records (I get an error message when I try it). So I should have an A record, but I can't have the IP address of Alibaba Cloud servers (so I chose the CNAME records). I have absolutely no idea how I could receive emails from my clients with a third party domain name and using Alibaba Direct Mail. Thank you in advance ! |

Hi Gwen, your english is fine! Did you try to follow the instructions in https://www.alibabacloud.com/help/faq-detail/39397.htm?
There you have 1 MX, 2 TXT and 1 CNAME. Should be fine to add that records to send emails. Which provider are you using for the domain? [roura edited the post at Jul 13, 2018 6:50 AM]

Gwen,
Direct Mail is an Alibaba service for sending emails. Direct Mail does not support email server functionality such as receiving email. If you are inside China take a look at another Alibaba email service: https://wanwang.aliyun.com/mail/ If you are outside China, then review the typical services such as Microsoft Office 365, Google GSuite, etc. |
