Question about servers

Hello guys,  my ECS, Domain and web hosting is in different instance server, does it have effects in creating a wordpress blog?


In details, my ECS server is in Hongkong while my domain and hosting is in US West 1 (Silicon Valley).


If so how may I go about it? Thanks for those who can help..

What's the usage of ECS in this scenario? If your web hosting will request the service which host on ECS through public network, it may have some delay, depends on the data size and frequency.

Hi,  Where do you want to install wordpress? hosting or ECS server? If you want to install wordpress on hosting plan you bought, edit domain's A record to point to the hosting's IP address.

If you want to install wordpress on ECS server, edit domain's A record to point to the ECS public IP address, and then configure you ECS wordpress enviorment for wordpress installation.

As far as you have a public IP for your WordPress server which is on an ECS, you can host it from anywhere.
I have my ECS server running on Singapore platform and I got my domain from GoDaddy in India. and it is hosted with the A record from India.
 do you need the steps to put the record on your domain hosting website?

You can use different server for DNS and Web Hosting.

I recommend you fast server use for web hosting.
Slow server use for DNS Service.

Use cloudflare for DNS Management (pointing A records, mx, txt)

Other Zone Edit from your USA Hosting
Or
freedns.afraid.org (limited 5 records)
