Network Performance of ECS

I have tested for Alibaba Cloud ECS to ECS network throughput by PerfkitBenchmarker tools both about external and internal network interface.

Our test objects are instances within VPC network. So we’d like illustrate the network performance between Alibaba Cloud ECS with VPC network mode.
The ECS to ECS external network throughput is about 850Mbps (~106MB/s), and the internal network throughput is just about 211Mbps (~26MB/s).
Actually, the external network throughput capacity is depending on Internet bandwidth of AliCloud EIP. And it truly decide on user's customization about EIP.
That could explain why the network throughput of ECS have nothing to do with the instance type.

 
The bandwidth of EIP has it’s limitation because of the ECS' product restriction. (More details pls refer to the Product and Business Restrictions page )


Moreover, Alibaba Cloud users can request to change the Internet bandwidth of EIP by submit a ticket to at most 400Mbps.

Likewise, if we specify the classic network mode of an ECS, the external network throughput is up to 100 Mbps just as our test simple results(Throughput:external: 98.600000 Mbits/sec).

IBM AppScan, Metasploit, Backtrack.
