Hong Kong session signing up now!

As the 3rd stage of CACSC, in Hong Kong Alibaba Cloud co-works with   HKSTP   (Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation) ,   COCOON , and   PAPERCLIP HK to host the contest. The contest offers very attractive rewards and future cloud infrastructure support programs including up to $216,000 in cloud resource credits.

Awards

There are three awards for Hong Kong session participants:

1. Competition finalists

- Eligibility for Alibaba Cloud’s international startup program Create@Alibaba Cloud where participants will receive and win USD $10,000 credit in cloud resources and free 1 on 1 Cloud infrastructure solution planning with Alibaba Cloud Architects.
- ICP application support, making it easy and smooth to set up your website and applications in China.
- Opportunities to connect with investors/incubators/co-working spaces in China.
- Gifts package prepared by PAPERCLIP HK.

2. The winner of Hong Kong session

In addition to the resources mentioned above, the winner of the competition will also receive the following:
- USD $50,000 credit to be used on Alibaba Cloud products and services.
- An invitation to the Alibaba Cloud Yunqi Conference for the world final (the hotel in Hangzhou and ticket for the Conference are sponsored by Alibaba Cloud). There the winner will have the opportunity to meet the top investment firms in China and gain coverage from global media.
- One month “CoCoon Co-working Pass” or one year “CoCoon Networking Pass”offered by CoCoon.
- One month “Hot Desk”membership offered by PAPERCLIP HK.

3. The champion of CACSC world final

In addition to the benefits mentioned above, the winner of the global final, held in Hangzhou on October 2016, will receive the following rewards:
A place in the Alibaba Cloud’s 18 Founders program, to receive the USD $216,000 credit to be used on Alibaba Cloud products and services, and a tailor-made marketing support plan which will give the winner access to global media exposure and opportunities to meet with investors.

Competition Entry Requirements, Rules & Notes

1. Entry requirements & judging criterion

Besides, the Hong Kong session ONLY invite companies registered in the Hong Kong, companies from other regions pls apply other sessions of CACSC.

2. Competition rules

-   Sign-up: Startups can sign-up through Alibaba Cloud website and our partners’ channels, or recommended by others, the application requires basic company information and the detailed business profile (details see the Application Form, and pls send the Form to CACSC@list.alibaba-inc.com).
-   Pre-screen: The CACSC Hong Kong contest committee will carefully read the materials of each applicant, and may call or email the applicants to check necessary information or learn more; and 8 startups will be selected for the Hong Kong final and to be notified the detailed arrangements and how to prepare.
-   Hong Kong final: We will hold the demo day in public area, each startup in the finalist choose one representative to introduce their project, and the judges will select one champion for the world final in China.

Meet the Judges

  • Leo Liu, Business Development Director, Greater China, Alibaba Cloud International

    As the director of Alibaba Cloud International team, Mr. Leo Liu drives the business growth of Alibaba Cloud in Hong Kong and also supports the Chinese customers buying cloud services out of China. Prior to joining Alibaba, he worked for Huawei in Europe where he built up the local sales and marketing teams and helped to open the new market for Huawei Cloud. Leo is experienced in cloud computing and ICT infrastructure construction and with special focus on international market. He holds master degree of Loughborough University in British, and a Bachelor of Science degree of Tongji University.

  • Cindy Chow, Executive Director, HK Entrepreneurs Fund

    As the executive director of the Hong Kong Entrepreneurs Fund, Ms. Cindy Chow is responsible for the overall fund management and investment. The mission of the Fund is to help Hong Kong entrepreneurs realize their dreams and visions for their respective communities that are vibrant and engaged regionally and globally. Cindy joined Alibaba in 2007 as the senior finance director of Alibaba, managing the group finance and company strategies relating to the international business. Before that, she held positions in multi listed companies in Hong Kong, with responsibilities covering fund-raising, strategic planning and financial reporting.

  • Peter Mok, Head of Incubation Programme, HKSTP

    Mr. Peter Mok is the in charge person of the Incubation Programme of Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation, he also manages the secretariat of the Hong Kong angel investment network “innoasia”. He has rich experience and got remarkable achievements in the area of marketing, Merger & Acquisition, venture investment and high level talent recruitment. Peter holds a bachelor degree in Economics from the University of Hong Kong, a LLB from University of London, and an MBA from The Chinese University of Hong Kong.

  • Roland Yau, Managing Partner of CoCoon Ignite Ventures

    Mr. Roland Yau is the managing partner of CoCoon Ignite Ventures. He is a veteran in the fields of corporate communications, transaction structure and execution, corporate governance and fund-raising, with expertise on equity capital markets, private equalities, and M&A. Prior to CoCoon Ignite Ventures, Roland was a lawyer of the intentional law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, where he had accumulated years’ experience in M&A and fund-raising, and served for clients including Cheung Kong (Holdings), Hutchison Whampoa Limited, PCCW and HKBN.
