【Product Change】Upgrade announcement for EMR Serverless Spark Task Diagnostics Capability

Change and impact

EMR Serverless Spark is upgrading its task diagnostics capability. The Diagnostics tab under Task History > Task Details is discontinued, and its diagnostics capabilities are now provided by the EMR AI Assistant with enhanced features.
The upgrade is scheduled to start at 00:00 on August 31, 2026, and will be completed region by region.

After the upgrade, the Diagnostics tab under Task History > Task Details in the EMR Serverless Spark console is no longer displayed separately. Task diagnostics is now handled by the EMR AI Assistant.

The upgrade has the following impact:

Affected: The Diagnostics tab on the task details page, including the display and query of task health diagnostics results, is migrated to the EMR AI Assistant.
Not affected: Core features such as task submission, running, status viewing, log exploration, and the metrics dashboard remain unaffected.

Action required

After the upgrade, use the EMR AI Assistant to diagnose tasks. Powered by a large language model, the EMR AI Assistant connects directly to your workspace, analyzes task logs, execution plans, and resource usage, and provides root cause analysis and remediation suggestions. Compared with the previous Diagnostics feature, it offers deeper analysis and broader scenario coverage.After the upgrade, use the EMR AI Assistant to diagnose tasks.
