Change and impact

To better serve our users, Alibaba Cloud Realtime Compute for Apache Flink has established a comprehensive Engine Lifecycle Management system (Lifecycle Policies). We would like to remind you to review these policies and check via the console or OpenAPI whether your current jobs are still running on engine versions that are approaching End of Support (EOS).

According to the Release Notes, VVR 11.1 (Apache Flink 1.20.1, GA on June 4, 2025) will reach EOS on December 4, 2026; VVR 11.2 (Apache Flink 1.20.2, GA on August 8, 2025) will reach EOS on February 8, 2027. After EOS, these versions will no longer receive technical support or security updates. To prevent potential security risks or stability issues from affecting your business, we strongly recommend that you upgrade the affected jobs as soon as possible.

Impact: Jobs that remain on VVR 11.1 or VVR 11.2 will no longer receive technical support or security updates after the respective EOS date.

Upgrade recommendations: Upgrade to VVR 11.3 or another higher version that has not reached EOS. Before upgrading, validate job dependencies, connector compatibility, and Savepoint compatibility. For details, see Upgrade the engine version of a deployment.
