Dear users,

Alibaba Cloud Security Center rolls out an upgrade for the anti-ransomware policy version from 00:00:00 on September 28, 2024 to 23:59:59 on September 29, 2024 to improve the stability of the anti-ransomware capability for databases.

In this upgrade, the anti-ransomware agent for databases in the following regions is upgraded to the latest version: China (Beijing), China (Shenzhen), China (Hong Kong), China (Hohhot), Singapore, and Australia (Sydney). Backup tasks may fail during the upgrade. If you encounter issues or need assistance during the upgrade, you can submit a ticket or call the service hotline to contact us at any time.

FAQ

1. How do I check whether my business is affected by this upgrade?

(1) Only the business of users who configure anti-ransomware policies for databases is affected. You can log on to the Security Center console, choose Protection Configuration > Host Protection > Anti-ransomware in the left-side navigation pane to go to the Anti-ransomware page, and check whether the anti-ransomware policies for databases are enabled.

(2) Only the anti-ransomware agent in the following regions in which anti-ransomware policies for databases are enabled is upgraded to the latest version: China (Beijing), China (Shenzhen), China (Hong Kong), China (Hohhot), Singapore, and Australia (Sydney). The anti-ransomware agent in other regions is not involved. If your ECS instances for which anti-ransomware policies for databases are enabled do not reside in one of the preceding regions, your business is not affected.

2. What are the risks of this upgrade?

If you execute your backup tasks during the upgrade, the tasks may fail. In this case, Security Center will notify you by sending emails, text messages, or internal messages. You can check the notifications about results of anti-ransomware tasks on the Notification Settings page in the Security Center console.
