To continuously enhance the security, performance, and enterprise-grade management capabilities of the platform, Model Studio is upgrading the API Key generation and storage mechanisms, as well as the inference API access domains, effective from 17:00:00 (UTC+8) on June 26, 2026.

This upgrade will take effect automatically for all users. Existing workloads will continue to operate seamlessly without requiring any modifications, while delivering a more secure key management infrastructure and a higher-performance API access experience.

1. Encrypted Storage of API Keys — Key Security Further Enhanced

To better protect users' key assets, Model Studio has comprehensively upgraded the generation, transmission, and storage mechanisms for API keys:

• Download upon creation: The plaintext of a newly created API key will be displayed only once during the creation process. Please download and securely store it immediately upon creation.
• End-to-end encryption: API keys are fully encrypted during all subsequent transmission and storage processes. The console will no longer support viewing or copying the plaintext of generated keys.
• Enhanced permission governance: Leveraging the key encryption capabilities, you can integrate workspaces, RAM users, and permission policies to build a more fine-grained system for key distribution and revocation.

2. Dedicated Inference API Domains for Workspaces — Performance and Stability Further Enhanced

Model Studio has launched a brand-new dedicated domain for inference services of models, agents, and applications within workspaces: [workspace-id].[region].maas.aliyuncs.com

Compared to the existing domain dashscope.aliyuncs.com, the dedicated domain offers the following advantages:

• Higher throughput: Capable of handling larger-scale business traffic, effortlessly accommodating enterprise core production workloads.
• Enhanced stability and speed: Comprehensive improvements in performance and stability metrics, meeting the SLA requirements for critical business paths.
• Enterprise-grade governance: In the future, it will natively support the unified Alibaba Cloud governance system, providing richer resource management, quota allocation, auditing, and governance capabilities for enterprise core production systems.

How to Use: Log in to the Model Studio console and navigate to the Workspace Details page to obtain the dedicated domain address for your workspace. Simply replace the existing domain no other code modifications are required—to instantly unlock the enhanced performance experience.

Impact on Existing Customers

This upgrade will take effect automatically for all users, ensuring a seamless transition for existing workloads:

• API Key: Your existing API keys will continue to function normally, with no impact on any features. We recommend taking advantage of this upgrade to create and activate new API keys to replace your legacy keys, thereby achieving a higher level of security and more comprehensive permission management.
• Inference API Domain: You can continue to use the existing domain dashscope.aliyuncs.com as the endpoint for your inference API requests, with no impact on functionality. We highly recommend switching to the dedicated workspace domain to enjoy enhanced performance, greater stability, and richer enterprise-grade governance capabilities.
