The I/O Performance Burst feature for ApsaraDB RDS instances with Premium ESSDs will transition from free public beta to paid service. Please see the details below:
- Effective Date: September 16, 2025 (Singapore Time, GMT+8)
- Billing Rules:
- Free Quota Retained: For existing instances that have the I/O Performance Burst feature enabled, as long as you do not disable this feature, you can continue to use it for free within the free quota.
- Pay-As-You-Go Pricing for Overages: If you enabled the feature and I/O usage exceeds the free quota, the actual I/O consumption beyond the free quota will be charged on a pay-as-you-go basis. For more detailed pricing information, please refer to the feature documentation.
- Cost Management Suggestions
- If you prefer not to incur charges for the I/O Performance Burst feature, we recommend manually disabling this feature to avoid associated costs.
- Impact Summary
- Existing Instances with the Feature Enabled: The feature will not be auto-disabled, please adjust settings proactively if needed. (You can refer to the feature documentation for details.)
- New Purchases: For newly purchased instances, the feature will be disabled by default. You will need to enable it manually if desired.
