Continued Support Plan for ApsaraDB RDS for MySQL Enterprise Series

To continuously enhance our products and user experience, future feature updates for ApsaraDB RDS for MySQL Enterprise Series will be integrated into PolarDB for Xscale (PolarDB-X), thus new functionalities will be available in the PolarDB-X 2.0 Standard Edition. For existing ApsaraDB RDS for MySQL Enterprise Series instances, we will no longer provide feature updates but will continue to offer maintenance, technical support, and bug fixes.
PolarDB-X 2.0 Standard Edition is fully compatible with all the features of ApsaraDB RDS for MySQL Enterprise Series. It provides enhanced financial-grade disaster recovery (DR) capabilities to ensure no data loss even during data center-level failures, maintaining a commitment to RPO = 0. Leveraging cloud-native architecture, PolarDB-X 2.0 offers comprehensive improvements, better performance, and higher cost efficiency. Additionally, it boasts superior scalability and supports a one-click upgrade to distributed architecture (PolarDB-X 2.0 Enterprise Edition), meeting the diverse needs of enterprise users.
If you are currently using ApsaraDB RDS for MySQL Enterprise Series, consider the following options:
1. Seamless Migration: For ongoing feature support, we recommend migrating to PolarDB-X 2.0 Standard Edition using the “One-Click Migration” feature. This free migration retains the original connection addresses (endpoints) of your database, so no changes to application configurations are needed. Find detailed steps in the migration documentation (https://www.alibabacloud.com/help/polardb/polardb-for-xscale/one-click-upgrade-of-rds-mysql-to-polardb-x).
2. Manual Migration: Alternatively, you may manually migrate to ApsaraDB RDS for MySQL Cluster Series, which is fully compatible with ApsaraDB RDS for MySQL Enterprise Series. It supports more nodes (up to 8) and allows enabling MGR to ensure an RPO of 0.
