We have received the latest notification from DigiCert, the Certificate Authority (CA), that the planned reduction of the maximum certificate validity period to 200 days—including both publicly trusted certificates and DigiCert Pro trial certificates—will take effect earlier than previously announced. The effective date has been moved forward from March 15, 2026, as stipulated in the CA/B Forum guidelines, to February 24, 2026. If the current single-certificate purchase model is maintained, the shortened certificate validity period will lead to more frequent certificate renewal processes, increasing the operational pressure on certificate management.

To address this industry trend and enhance your certificate management experience, starting from February 2026, Alibaba Cloud's Digital Certificate Management Service will be upgraded from a single-certificate sales model to a subscription service.

After upgrading to the subscription service, you can still choose to subscribe for 1 year, 2 years, or 3 years. Within the subscription period, Alibaba Cloud commits to providing you with multiple SSL certificates to ensure continuous service and certificate availability. That is, when one certificate is about to expire, the Digital Certificate Management Service will automatically provide you with a newly issued certificate to ensure uninterrupted service throughout the entire cycle.
