Dear Alibaba Cloud user,

In accordance with the latest policy from the Certification Authority Browser Forum (CA/Browser Forum) and certificate authorities (CAs), the maximum validity period for a single certificate will be reduced to 199 days, starting from 00:00 on February 25, 2026. In response to this change, Alibaba Cloud will adjust its certificate creation and delivery methods to ensure your business continuity and compliance.

For certificates purchased in your Alibaba Cloud account before 00:00 on February 25, 2026, but not yet issued before that time, the following changes will apply:

• One-year SSL certificates: The system will create two 6-month certificates for each certificate quota and include one complimentary managed certificate service.
• Multi-year SSL certificates: The system will provide multiple certificates to cover the full service duration, including the required number of managed certificate services.
• DigiCert, Rapid, and GeoTrust brand certificates: For certificate applications submitted but not issued before 00:00 on February 25, 2026, the system will resubmit the application with the new validity period.
• The renewal and notification reminder time for 6-month certificates will be adjusted to 20 days before expiration.
