We would like to inform you of changes to the previously announced Service Termination Plan for ApsaraDB RDS for SQL Server Serverless, which are made in consideration of product stability and user experience. The latest arrangements are as follows:

Adjustment Details (Singapore Time)

• End of New Purchases:
  • Original Plan: As of December 1, 2025 (SGT), new purchases will no longer be accepted.
  • Adjusted Plan: Effective November 4, 2025 (SGT), new purchases will no longer be accepted.
• Service Termination: The technical support services for serverless instances were originally scheduled to end on June 1, 2026 (SGT), but this date may change based on actual circumstances. We will notify you of any adjustments, so please keep an eye on future announcements.

Impacts (Unchanged)

• From the date of End of New Purchases, no new orders will be accepted.
• From the date of Service Termination, no new features or updates will be provided for the service. Besides, the technical support will be permanently discontinued. Therefore, no troubleshooting, or technical assistance will be provided. However, the operation of existing serverless instances will not be affected.

Recommended Actions

• If you plan to purchase ApsaraDB RDS for SQL Server Serverless, you may consider purchasing pay-as-you-go or subscription instances instead.
• We strongly recommend that you convert serverless instances to pay-as-you-go instances as soon as possible before the date of Service Termination. For specific instructions, please refer to the following document: Change the instance billing method from serverless to pay-as-you-go >
