PT Jalur Nugraha Ekakurir, or JNE for short, was founded in 1990, and has been providing speedy express deliveries in Indonesia ever since. Today, JNE owns and operates over 6,000 service locations with more to open soon, and employs over 40,000 hard-working individuals. In recent years, JNE has been working hard towards the digital transformation of its services to make its already great delivery service smarter. Alibaba Cloud was able to provide JNE with a comprehensive disaster recovery solution, fulfilling all of the customer's requirements. The proposed solution used several of Alibaba Cloud's core computing and network products. In particular, Elastic Compute Service (ECS) instances were used as the backbone of the disaster recovery solution, hosting the relevant applications as well as storing data using a system of block storage. Next, Elastic IP Address (EIP) was implemented to enable access to applications from remote sites. Last, Alibaba Cloud's Serve Load Balancer (SLB) product was used to ensure that services do not overload servers on the cloud. The solution implemented, in addition to preventing possible service downtime, is highly scalable and also highly available. As such, the solution can work with the dynamics of JNE's business by providing a higher availability capability at lower costs.05
