The Alibaba Cloud Malaysia AI Hackathon 2025 is set to drive innovation and advance AI capabilities in Malaysia. As the first Alibaba Cloud hackathon in the country, this event will bring together developers, AI enthusiasts, and industry experts to collaborate on groundbreaking AI projects using Alibaba Cloud's cutting-edge technologies.

This year, we are partnering with AGMO to deliver an exciting and impactful hackathon experience.

How to Join?

Please follow the steps below to register for the hackathon.

Create an Alibaba Cloud Account

A valid Alibaba Cloud account is required to activate required Alibaba Cloud products, and to receive Alibaba Cloud credits for the hackathon.

Please make sure you have complate the registration form with the Alibaba Cloud you will use for the hackathon before the closing date.

Join the Briefing

We will have briefing session (online) for all the participants, followed with the reverse pitching from our partners so you can start thinking on the solutions that you want to build onsite

Coding and Submission

Complete your project and submit your presentation on time

Enrollment Rules and FAQ:

Participants must have signed up for an Alibaba Cloud account to register for the hackathon. And in order to activate Alibaba Cloud services, participants must add a payment method (during the hackathon, we will provide some credits for you to use our services)
Please register for the hackathon with the Alibaba Cloud account you will use in the hackathon. You will receive Alibaba Cloud credits for the hackathon nearer the hackathon date with the account you registered for the hackathon.
Contestants can compete individually or in teams of up to 4 members. The cash prize will be transferred to one representative from each winning team.
A qualified submission must use required Alibaba Cloud AI services and deployed in Alibaba Cloud. Any violation of rules can lead to disqualification.
Members of Alibaba Group can participate in the contest, but are excluded from the prizes.

Alibaba Cloud's Model Studio is a powerful AI development platform that allows users to build, train, and deploy AI models with ease. During the hackathon, participants will be given access to Model Studio and will receive training as part of the pre-hackathon sessions.
Are there any pre-hackathon sessions or training?

Yes, there will be a pre-hackathon training session on Alibaba Cloud’s AI Tools. Details on how to join these sessions will be provided to registered participants.
How will the projects be judged?

Projects will be judged based on several criteria including: Innovation and Creativity, Technical Implementation, Impact and Presentation and Pitching
Can I participate in a team?

Yes, participants can form teams of up to 4 members. You can either register as a team or find teammates during the first day of the hackathon events. Please note that each team members need to register in the form as part of hackathon.
What should I bring to the hackathon?

Participants should bring their own laptops and any other necessary equipment for coding and project development. Wi-Fi and power outlets will be provided at the venue.
Is there a participation fee?

No, participation in the Alibaba Cloud Malaysia AI Hackathon 2025 is completely free. But if you coming from outside Kuala Lumpur, we might not able to cover your travel and accomodation.
How can I get help during the hackathon?

Mentors and technical support staff will be available throughout the hackathon to assist participants with any questions or issues.
Is there any travel or accommodation support for participants traveling to Kuala Lumpur?

Unfortunately, there will be no travel support for participants in this hackathon. All participants are responsible for arranging and covering their own travel and accommodation costs to attend the event in Kuala Lumpur.
Will food and beverages be provided during the hackathon?

Yes, meals and refreshments will be provided for all participants throughout the hackathon.
