Features of 6th Gen Instances
Based on the X-Dragon Chip Developed by Alibaba Cloud and Lightweight Hypervisor
6th Generation ECS instances are built around the smart X-Dragon chip developed by Alibaba Cloud and the new lightweight Hypervisor to offload a large number of virtualization functions to dedicated hosts, significantly reducing virtualization overheads. These ECS instances unlock the full potential of all CPU and memory resources of host machines, thereby improving the capabilities of hosts and high-specification instances.
Based on 2nd Gen Intel® Xeon® Scalable Processor
6th Generation ECS instances are equipped with 2nd Gen Intel® Xeon® Scalable Processor that can achieve a maximum Turbo Boost speed of 3.2 GHz. These ECS instances offer improved end-to-end computing performance in a variety of scenarios and also increase computing performance several times over in deep learning scenarios.
Consistent and Predictable Performance in Enterprise-level Scenarios
Alibaba Cloud is the first cloud service provider in China to provide the Storage Quality of Service (QoS) capability, which ensures predictable workload performance for enterprise-level customers through software and hardware optimizations and fine-grained QoS controls.
