The solution uses Alibaba Cloud Content Delivery Network (CDN) with global real-time acceleration, multi-disaster recovery management, livestreaming full-process monitoring, and livestreaming scenarized capabilities to distribute the opening ceremony of the China Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai to audiences worldwide. It allows everyone to enjoy a real-time, stable, clear, and scenario-based live experience.
Alibaba Cloud CDN has built a powerful cross-regional and full-carrier network with more than 2,800 nodes. Users from various networks worldwide can break through the restrictions and enjoy a seamless video experience. At the same time, Alibaba Cloud uses the transmission optimization technology of the contract issuing protocol to reduce the video delay, bringing users a better audio and visual experience. Alibaba Cloud also provides bitrate adaptation technology for users with unstable networks. The technology can match client network conditions through multiple video bitrates automatically, solving high latency and stuttering problems.
Stability during large-scale livestreaming events is particularly important. Alibaba Cloud provides guarantees for each live streaming full-process link with a dual active and standby mechanism through multi-disaster recovery management and live streaming full-process monitoring. When there is any jitter, lag, or failure in the source device and the real-time acceleration main link, its backup link will be switched automatically to ensure a smooth experience for users. The full-process monitoring mechanism monitors problems, such as jitter, stuttering, screen blackouts, and audio abnormalities, on the client, server, and convergence side in real-time and locates the causes accurately. Alibaba Cloud experts will solve the problems the first time to ensure a smooth user experience throughout the whole process.
In terms of livestreaming scenarized capability, Alibaba Cloud's narrowband HD technology can provide users with a clearer viewing experience based on the same bitrate. Alibaba Cloud products also provide functions, such as live recording and time shifting, during the livestreaming of Expo 2020 Dubai to meet the needs of users. At the same time, Digital Rights Management (DRM) technology is provided to reduce the risks of piracy and hotlinks. It will ensure the safety of livestreaming content in all respects.
