We kicked off our Alibaba Cloud Global Hackathon Series 2025 in the best way possible — with two days of intense innovation, community energy, and AI breakthroughs right here in Singapore!
Hosted at the Alibaba Cloud Singapore Office from April 10–11, 2025, this hackathon brought together some of the region’s brightest minds to build real-world solutions using cutting-edge tools in our AI ecosystem.
The Alibaba Cloud Singapore AI Hackathon 2025 ignited a powerful spark in the heart of Southeast Asia’s tech scene. We welcomed over 80 passionate developers, designers, and builders who gathered at our Singapore office to turn ideas into impact. What made it even more exciting was the diverse crowd — professionals from Singapore General Hospital, OCBC Bank, DBS Bank, and more joined forces with indie hackers and students to solve pressing problems through AI.
In just two days, participants created 25 working AI prototypes, proving what’s possible when innovation meets collaboration. With the support of over 10 ecosystem partners — including AngelHack, Antler, Plug and Play APAC, Tenity, Block71, Vertex Ventures, KrASIA, GenAI Fund, and more — the event underscored Singapore’s growing leadership in AI innovation and startup culture.
A team of educators and technologists came together with a mission to make storytelling more engaging and inclusive. Their product, StorySpinner, generates personalized children’s storybooks using inputs like theme, characters, and moral values. It harnesses Model Studio and Qwen to create vibrant narratives, while WAN transforms them into illustrated books in real time. Judges loved the blend of creativity, accessibility, and strong technical execution.
This team set out to disrupt digital marketing. adMorph.ai uses Qwen to analyze target audiences and PAI to generate dynamic, real-time ad content that can adapt across platforms. The addition of WAN gives each ad its own visual flair. It’s a future-forward tool for marketers seeking speed, scale, and personalization — all backed by AI.
Taffy is the ultimate AI co-pilot for UI/UX designers. From brainstorming interfaces to recommending layouts and optimizing user flows, this assistant supports every step of the design process. Built using Model Studio, ECS, Qwen, PAI, and AnalyticDB, the tool impressed judges with its multi-layered integration and potential to cut design time in half.
University students from diverse disciplines teamed up to create EduToon, an AI-powered platform that turns academic notes into comics and animated videos. Using Qwen for text summarization, PAI for conversion, and WAN for visuals, this playful project aims to transform how students consume and retain educational content.
Participants had access to the full suite of Alibaba Cloud’s powerful AI and cloud computing tools, including:
● Model Studio (API version) – For building, fine-tuning, and deploying AI models
● Qwen – Alibaba Cloud’s proprietary LLM for content generation, summarization, and dialogue
● PAI – Platform for AI that provides easy-to-use machine learning tools
● WAN – Visual AI engine to create images from text
● ECS & AnalyticDB – For scalable computing power and real-time analytics
These tools helped teams go from idea to working prototype faster — and smarter — than ever before.
